South Sudan is home to many distinct peoples and cultures across East-Central Africa. While the Gospel has a strong presence in much of the country, nearly 700,000 people still live among unreached people groups, and some communities remain in need of a clear Gospel witness and locally led churches.
That is why the local church matters so deeply. A church is more than a place to meet, it becomes a spiritual home where believers can grow, leaders can be raised up, and the hope of Christ can take root and spread throughout the surrounding community.
“As we connected with the community, we gained favor from the chief, the elders, and even those who had initially opposed us. John Anai, who lives in the Badai area, used to blaspheme and discourage people from attending church. After hearing the Gospel, he testified, “God changed my life, and since then I have given my life to Jesus.” He is now encouraging his friends to attend church and follow Christ.”
